Fondazione Circolo dei Lettori: Andrea Ganelli Named President

7 October 2026

News from Circolo dei Lettori: after the recent unveiling of the 2026/2027 season, dedicated to the theme Natural Intelligence. The Executive Council of the Piedmont Region has officially appointed Andrea Ganelli to lead the cultural foundation and to serve as Chairman of the Management Council.

We recall that on August 13 last, the Piedmont Region—sole shareholder of the Circolo dei Lettori Foundation—had published a public notice for the appointment of a new president, who would take the place of Giulio Biino.

The words of Giuseppe Culicchia, Director of the Foundation

“The Circolo dei Lettori Foundation wholeheartedly thanks Giulio Biino for the passion and competence with which he held the role of President over the past eight years and welcomes Andrea Ganelli, with whom we will soon begin discussing the many projects awaiting us here in Turin as well as throughout Piedmont: our institution is, in fact, a long festival unlike any other, lasting eleven months a year (indeed twelve, given the success noted last August in Stresa on Lake Maggiore), and we look forward to sharing ideas and initiatives with our new President,” says the Foundation’s director, the writer Giuseppe Culicchia.

Who is Andrea Ganelli

Born in Piacenza on January 30, 1971, Ganelli holds a law degree and has been a notary since 2002. He is the founder of Leading Law, “the first professional entity in Italy that brings together notaries and lawyers,” and he serves on the board of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, on the board of the Association “Area ONLUS,” as a member of the steering committee for the creation of the Social Impact Exchange, and as honorary consul of Myanmar for Northwest Italy (Piemonte, Lombardy and Liguria).

I write about books the way I read them: slowly, curiously, and with attention to the details that linger after the final page. At Lythrum Press, I cover literary fiction, essays, memoirs and the wider culture of reading, with a particular interest in voices that challenge familiar ways of seeing the world. My work is guided by one simple idea: a good book deserves more than a reaction — it deserves a conversation.
