As the world of books prepares to meet in Frankfurt for the year’s most anticipated book fair, Giunti announces the arrival of Emanuele Basile to its team in the role of nonfiction consultant, “bringing with him a twenty-four-year track record in acquiring and developing international non-fiction titles at Mondadori.”
During his career in Segrate, Basile oversaw the acquisition of numerous notable non-fiction titles, for both the Italian market and at an international scope. Among these are The Po by Tobias Jones, Creative Act by Rick Rubin, and The World Is Our Homeland by Selena Daly, dedicated to the history of Italian emigration. On the international front, he brought to Mondadori’s catalog editorial milestones such as Spare by Prince Harry, Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe, and Get Back by the Beatles, along with many titles by Thich Nhat Hanh and Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen (a film adaptation currently in development, with Denis Villeneuve directing).
“After twenty-four years, it’s natural to feel the thrill of a new beginning,” but what I found at Giunti immediately put me at ease: a vibrant team, full of energy, curiosity, and deep editorial experience. I look forward to channeling this energy into new stories and new authors,” explains Emanuele Basile. And Luigi Belmonte (since March 2025 Chief of Adult Publishing for the Giunti Group, and with a long history at Mondadori’s Oscar imprint behind him) speaks of strengthening the “non-fiction team, in line with the group’s growth objectives.”
