“The new Mediterranean hub of publishing, cinema, and audiovisual.” On September 23 and 24, the Royal Palace of Naples will host the inaugural edition of Kyma – Stories That Set Sail, “the permanent platform for dialogue and connection between publishing, cinema, audiovisual and new forms of contemporary storytelling.”
The initiative’s objective is indeed to “build a bridge between the Mediterranean and global markets to reflect on the evolution of content, production and distribution models, the impact of Artificial Intelligence, copyright and transmediality”.
In a moment when stories fluidly cross languages and platforms, Kyma “offers a stable space for dialogue on the major changes that are redefining the content industry. Authors, editors, producers, broadcasters and decision-makers can develop new projects and discuss the evolution of publishing and audiovisual supply chains, new production and distribution models, the impact of artificial intelligence, the growth of transmedial content, and the role of intellectual property in global markets.”
The initiative takes shape within “Napoli Città – Mondo,” the commemorative program for the 2500th anniversary of the founding of Naples in 2026, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, coordinated by a dedicated Committee established by the Department and developed through a network of cultural, economic and diplomatic institutions committed to strengthening Naples’ international positioning. Kyma, specifically, is a project promoted by the Fondazione Mezzogiorno, in collaboration with Unione Industriali Napoli and co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
