Roll the Calls, the memoir by the great American agent Ari Emanuel written together with the Pulitzer Prize winner J.R. Moehringer (in the large photo, ndr), will be released in Italy by Limina, the imprint of Adriano Salani Editore (Mauri Spagnol Group), which has acquired the rights. The Italian title will be announced before publication, slated for the first half of 2027.
Emanuel is one of the most influential figures in entertainment and in global culture, and he was the inspiration for the character of Ari Gold in HBO’s series Entourage. His brother is Rahm Emanuel, former mayor of Chicago and senior advisor to Barack Obama.
The memoir of the chief executive officer and managing director of TKO, as well as executive chairman of WME Group (the agency representing film, television and music artists, as well as world-renowned writers), has just been released in the United States and the United Kingdom, published respectively by Knopf and William Collins. In 2027 a publication in Spain is planned (for Duomo Ediciones).
As for J.R. Moehringer, he is the author of the bestseller The Tender Bar and the ghostwriter behind several biographies that helped redefine a literary genre: Spare by Prince Harry, Open by Andre Agassi, and The Art of Winning by Phil Knight.
Roll the Calls tells of “the role of anger as the engine and driving force behind the American scene,” of his personal battle against dyslexia, his upbringing on Chicago’s South Side, and his relocation to Hollywood, where he began at the bottom, working in the mailroom of the CAA.

He recounts how he confronted a marriage in crisis, how he fought to rekindle love, and how he continued to manage his roster of demanding clients, including Martin Scorsese, Larry David, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
