JULY 11TH 2004 JOEY
โYOUโRE GOING THE WRONG WAY.โ
โNo, Iโm not.โ
โYes, you are.โ
โDo you want to drive?โ โNo.โ
โThenย shut up!โ
She gasped in a loud breath. โIโm offended!โ I shrugged.
โSay sorry.โ โNo.โ
She folded her arms across her chest and huffed. โDo it.โ I laughed. โNo.โ
โI want an apology.โ
โAnd I want a million euro,โ I laughed. โTell you what, youโll get your apology when I get my money.โ
She glared at the side of my face for a few moments longer before her expression softened. โHey, Joe, do you think Iโm dramatic?โ
โOnly when youโre awake.โ
Her glare made a reappearance. โNow, I want two apologies.โ
Her phone started to ring then, and she quickly answered the call. โHello, father, this is your favorite child speaking.โ
Rolling my eyes, I concentrated on the road ahead of us, while she rambled on to her dad.
โYeah, we had a great time,โ she said, ripping off a lollypop wrapper and popping it into her mouth. โYeah, Casey really enjoyed the festival, too.โ She paused to wink at me before continuing with her conversation, โYeah, Iโm totally safe, Dad. Iโm really getting the hang of driving.โ
Yeah fucking right.
โOkay, Dad, Iโll see you tonight. Yeah, yeah. Okay, love you. Bye.โ
Hanging up, she tossed the phone on her lap, and twisted in her seat to face me. โSo, I had a really good time this weekend, boyfriend.โ
โIโm not your boyfriend, Molloy.โ
โOh yeah, I forgot,โ she shot back with a grin. โYouโre myย bitch
