Chapter no 22 – Adrianna

Heart of Desire

I wake up next to Grayson, who looks almost angelic in his state of unconsciousness. I hadn’t planned on falling asleep in his bed again, but when I was with Grayson, I hadn’t found myself making any

sense.

I forget that Grayson Prince was the devil himself in disguise, I pulled away from his cold body, readjusting to my warm one. I stayed to look at his restless face and his bulging body. His face, despite still looking handsome, looked like he needed sleep.

My phone rings, but my bag is still on the table. I pull out his sheets, answering, “Margo.” I whisper.

She talks with a raspy voice, “Hey, did you get home okay?” I sigh, “Yes, I did.”

She hums, “So you’re on your bed right now?” I smiled when I looked at Grayson who was awake.

“Yes. Of course.”

His body weight leaning on the headboard, “That’s funny because I’m at your place right now and you are nowhere to be found.” She pauses as I hear a door creaking open, “Especially in your bathroom or closet.”

Grayson laughs as I place my finger on the top of my lips telling him to shut up. He gets up, looking out the balcony door, Margo was there alright. He looks at me with a smirk, it’s like he wants to get caught.

“Adrianna, why are you lying to me right now?” I froze, I never lied to Margo, just kept her in the dark about a few things.

I groan, “Margo, I just left.”

“Yes, well you have your appointment today.”

I look at Grayson, frowning, “I’m coming.”

Grayson’s eyes furrow, concern grew, “What appointment?” I look at him, quite unsure on what to say.

“Margo, I’ll be there in five minutes.”

She sighs, “If you think you can skip on your appointment just because you sneaked away you are surely mistaken and don’t forget your pills.”

“I won’t.” I blurted, hanging up my phone.

Grayson’s body was towering mine as he looked down, “What appointment?” He asked as I spewed off something random.

“Nothing.”

Grayson runs after me, “I can take you.”

I pause, looking back at Grayson, “I mean, isn’t that what friends are supposed to do?” He scratches the back of his neck as I narrow my eyes.

He would be right technically, but I wasn’t in the mood to let Grayson know that I was a raging druggie.

Or that I go to therapy. Or have body dysmorphia. Or the fact that I overdosed and reached the afterlife for twenty-two seconds.

I gave him a blank look, “No.” I muttered as he nodded his head slowly. “Okay, fine.” He reached for a jacket from his closet, chuckling it at me,

as I flipped him off.

“Don’t act like you didn’t love it when you had this on.” He leans closer, “Actually, nothing but the jacket on you.”

I slap him playfully, “And you’re going to act like you weren’t invested?”

“Of course, I was invested.” I felt my skin prickle, “Why wouldn’t I be?” He pulls me in, placing his lips on my neck, making me groan.

“I have to go. Margo won’t shut up.” I laugh, looking out the window to see Margo’s silhouette.

I halt, pushing Grayson down on his bed.

“Damn.” He groans as I remember his bruises. “I’m so sorry!” I whisper as I hold out a hand.

Yet I seem to forget that he was an asshole, pulling me in, crashing on top of him. I laugh.

I looked down at him, I was straddling his hips and he seemed to have an arousing situation, Grayson moaned, and it was a beautiful sight.

“How long do you have to get back?” He whispers into my ear.

I smile, “Well, now I have three minutes.” I place my hands on his chest, running my hands down to his abs, just admiring his entirety.

He leans closer, his mouth kissing my ear, “Ride me and I’ll make you come in three.” His husky voice on my neck as I close my eyes, swallowing.

“I… don’t know how to—” I moan as he grips my hips, rolling me on his erection.

My stomach flutters when he looks at me the way he does, his eyes so warm. I’ve never seen it this way before.

I don’t think that it was possible for me to resist it. I was eager to listen to him, eager to just drown in him.

My heart trembled as I swallowed, feeling his hand grip the nape of my neck, his fingers weaving through my hair. He had a definite fondness for my long, raven locks. As he buried his face into my neck, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of arousal, my core wet with desire.

“You can do it, Dove,” he whispered, as I rocked my hips forward, eliciting a groan from him. The electricity surging through my body left me shaken, heat and fire burning through my veins. I craved the pressure of his hands on my hips, gripping me tighter.

I leaned in closer, pressing my warm body against his, my breasts brushing against him. Even while straddling him, he dwarfed me, his abs tightening as I trembled. Taking his hands from my neck, I placed them on my hips.

His grip tightened, making me jolt. “Fuck, baby,” he groaned, his lips brushing my ear as his hands squeezed my ass, a slap making me jump again.

“Oh,” I moaned, moving back and forth, my breath hitching, even though I tried not to show how much I felt.

Grayson’s feral gaze bore into me. “Yes,” he groaned.

I rocked my hips harder against his erection, shivering. “Oh god,” I gasped, tossing my hair back.

His fingers slid down to my pussy. “So fucking wet for me,” he murmured before biting my neck. My hands gripped his shoulders, grounding myself as the intensity of my arousal surged.

“Oh fuck, oh fuck… fuck,” I groaned, my mind going blank as my orgasm consumed me, my entire body surrendering to the sensation.

But Grayson didn’t stop. His fingers moved with a precision that felt almost magical, rubbing and caressing me. As I tried to pull away, he grabbed my hips, holding me in place.

My head fell back again as my hips moved in time with his fingers, trying to keep up with the relentless pace. Then Grayson did the unthinkable.

“Good girl,” he groaned against my neck, and I looked at him, shaken. He brought his soaked fingers to his lips, sucking on them one by one, savoring the taste like a meal on Thanksgiving. “Holy fuck, baby.”

I stared at him as he smiled. “Baby?”

I quickly got up, pushing him away, my heart racing. “I figured that’s what I should call you when August is near,” I said with a smile, gathering my things. He looked at me like he was in a dream, utterly amazed.

I felt like I was in a dream too.

Grayson Prince had just blown my mind, and I couldn’t see us stopping anytime soon. I was caught in a web of complicated feelings, tangled up with no way to save myself.

Grayson Prince was treading on uncharted territory with me. We weren’t dating, so I had no idea if we were just friends with benefits.

I’ve never had benefits before. I don’t trust it. And yet, here I am.

It was dangerous for me to agree to this. I’d just had a taste of Grayson, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to become addicted to another drug.

If I went through with this, the aftermath might destroy me. As I walked out of his back door, I knew Margo would have a meltdown if she ever found out, so I was as careful as I could be.

But apparently, I wasn’t careful enough.

I dropped my bag, and my belongings spilled out—books, lipstick, makeup, my trusty pepper spray, and condoms.

I’ve never had s*x before, but keeping condoms in my purse was a precaution. Unfortunately, I ran into a familiar face.

“Adrianna Cassian,” Liam smirked, bending down to pick up the pack of condoms.

Great. Not only was I late for my appointment with Margo, but now I was mortified.

I snatched them from him, my face heating up.

“Has Hawthorne’s most precious diamond… been touched?” he teased, his smile gleaming. I wanted to empty the pepper spray on him.

“No, but nice try,” I replied.

He glanced up at Grayson’s balcony. “Did you spend the night?” I nodded.

“Is he okay?” He shoved his hands in his sweatpants’ pockets, looking genuinely concerned.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, shoving the condoms back into my bag, glaring at Liam as if he had crossed a line.

“Liam, I won’t ask you again,” I said firmly, noticing his smile falter.

“Grayson sent a guy from the other team to the E.R. last night during the game you missed,” he said with a hint of criticism. “And apparently, the fight started over you.”

I swallowed. “Liam—” I sighed.

His mouth thinned. “I think you should talk to Grayson about it,” he said, walking past me to open the door. I stood there, shaken.
