Chapter no 9

Destiny Awakened (Destiny Series Book 1)

Aria

That mother fucking Sex Shop Barbie bitch! How fucking dare she! I know her type. She wants to humiliate and rule over everyone else. Well fuck that. I am not ashamed of my past, I am done hiding what makes other people uncomfortable. If they canโ€™t accept what I am then fuck them all. If they want to see what I can do, Iโ€™ll show them what I can do and then Sex Shop Barbie can see whoโ€™s going to be top bitch around her.

Even though my rage felt like it was melting my insides I still felt like I was going to throw up when I turned around. I donโ€™t know how I would take it if my three guys looked at me with pity or disgust. I know my scars are ugly but they are my battle scars and they brand me as a survivor. I may hate them but they are still a part of who I am. Evidence of the fire I came through to get to the place where I am now.

When I looked over to the three of them all I saw was pride in their eyes and I knew that I could do this. I felt like I could do anything if they were right there beside me.

โ€œFine, you want to see what I can do? Set it up, Iโ€™ll show you what I can doโ€ I declared striding over to the empty area which was clearly where the simulation was set up.

โ€œDylan, fire it upโ€ I heard Caleb say to a kid sat in the corner with what looked like some kind of iPad. He pushed a few buttons and an image flickered in front of me of a hugely built twenty something year old man. He dropped down into a fight stance and waited.

โ€œAnything goes?โ€ I asked over my shoulder as I assessed the image in front of me.

โ€œGive it all youโ€™ve gotโ€ Caleb laughed. He was clearly underestimating me.

I took three steps closer to the illusion of the man which was about twenty feet in front of me then I pulled a throwing knife in to my hand and fired it across at him. It sunk into his right eye and the image flickered and then dissolved. I heard Sykes whoop behind me โ€œYeah she did!โ€ and a few others chuckled with him.

A glanced over my shoulder at Caleb and raised an eyebrow at him. That wasnโ€™t even challenging. He regarded me coolly clearly trying to get a measure of me. Della just glared like the bitch she was realising that round two was about to go to me too. โ€œDylan, crank it up to level tenโ€ he smirked.

โ€œSorry, did you say tenโ€ Dylan sputtered. Clearly not thinking that was a good idea. My magic ran like burning lava through my body. The rage was flowing and I felt like level ten was a fantastic idea.

โ€œYeah.โ€ He answered before looking at me โ€œIt goes up to twenty but first years rarely make it past level five.โ€

I grinned at him like a madwoman. This was going to be fun. I turned back to the fighting area as the illusion flickered to life. There were another five versions of the stacked men, I think they were supposed to be shifters, but there were also three fucking huge monsters which looked like demons. They had a dark charcoal scaly skin and the closest thing I could think of that they resembled was a cross between a shaved gorilla and a crocodile. I cocked my head to one side. I was going to need some kind of โ€˜Monsters for Dummiesโ€™ book, with illustrations, to wrap my head around this place. I could hear the whispers behind me as my fellow classmates seemed to be taking bets on how long I was going to last. I filtered them out. This is what

I was made for. I dropped into a fighting stance before assessing the scene in front of me. I had three of the shifters to the front and two to the right with the three demon type creatures taking up the centre. Time to even some odds. I started to run towards them and this time pulled on my throwing stars. I took down four of the men, lodging a star in their throats. They flickered out of existence whilst they bled out. I pushed my magic down through my arms and pulled the short swords in to each of my hands. I ran at the last of the shifters and dropped to the floor at the last second as he raised one leg to try and side kick me in the head. I skidded along the floor and slashed his femoral artery on the leg he was still standing on with one slice from my sword. It hadnโ€™t even been a minute before the fifth and final shifter flickered out of existence. I brought my skid to a stop before pouncing back to my feet. That just left the three demons in front of me. I had no idea how to kill them. I didnโ€™t even really know what they were. But hey I figure not much can keep going without a head. In the time it had taken me to take out the three shifters they had barely moved. But they had turned to face me. They were clearly slow and I would use that to my advantage. I ran at the group of them. I was going to have to do this with my swords, I had no idea if the throwing knives or stars would do enough damage and I didnโ€™t want to waste the energy on them. The one nearest to me threw a left hook at me and I bent backwards as it sailed over my head. I brought both swords up and slashed out at his arm as it went past and it let out a roar as it went. It overshot on its punch making it turn away from me and it was almost too easy to bring my sword back and take off its head as it turned its back to me following through on the punch. These things really werenโ€™t too clever. Whilst I had been dealing with the first one the next closest one to me managed to get a sucker punch in to my gut and fuck me did he pack a punch. The air blew out of me and I stumbled back a step. This might be an illusion but it still fucking hurt and I needed to keep my head in the game. Luckily as it had stepped forward to deliver its punch it provided me with the ideal jumping off point in the form of a bent knee. I got one foot on its knee before pushing up. A slash of my sword took off its head just as my other foot landed on its shoulder and I vaulted off it towards the final remaining demon. I sailed straight over its head before flipping over and landed on my feet behind it. I whipped myself around swinging my sword and the final head rolled to the ground.

I turned around to face Caleb and the rest of his class. There were several open mouths hanging open, including Sex Shop Barbie. I should probably try and learn her name at some point. The guys were grinning and Caleb just shook his head with a look of absolute hate on his face. โ€œI should have realised when I saw your bank account that this was how you made all that money.โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ I asked cocking my head to one side.

โ€œI didnโ€™t think that there was much call for Assassins in the human realm.โ€ He snarked. Dick! There were several gasps in the class when he made that remark.

โ€œThere probably is but that is not how I make my moneyโ€ I said walking over to my guys. There was no judgment and no question in any of their faces. Just smiles and eyes shining with pride. Kyle handed me a bottle of water which I took a grateful swig of.

Caleb had followed me over to the side where I was stood with the guys and the rest of the class didnโ€™t even try to hide the fact that they were watching and listening. โ€œThere is no way you made that much by waiting tablesโ€ he stated scowling at me.

โ€œNo. Maybe Iโ€™m just really good at shaking my assโ€ I grinned taking another swig of water. I wasnโ€™t going to let his judgmental ass bring me down. I feel like I just achieved a major life hurdle. Iโ€™m standing here scars on display and not having any kind of emotional breakdown. I just proved that I kick ass and I actually feel quite proud of myself for once.

โ€œNo one would pay to look at thatโ€ Della quirked.

Caleb swivelled on the spot to face her. โ€œDella get to the headmasterโ€™s office immediately.โ€ She spluttered her indignation at him not managing to

form any kind of argument. โ€œYou took the shirt off a female student in front of the class without her permission. I will send a message to the headmaster to inform him and deal with you appropriately now remove yourself from my class.โ€ He turned back to look at me questioningly but thankfully he didnโ€™t seem to be quite so mad at me for reasons I had absolutely no idea about. Perhaps because, you know, he assumed I was some kind of murderer for money.

Della stormed out of the class. Sex Shop Barbie was a far better name for her. That girl clearly had some issues and I doubted that this would be the end of her taking shots at me. Meanwhile, the guys and I took a seat on the bleachers that ran down the length of the room.

โ€œWell?โ€ Caleb asked hitting me with what I am sure was his hardest stare. โ€œNo, I am not some shady halfblood assassin. Sorry to disappoint. I merely

โ€ฆ liberate โ€ฆ objects from men of questionable morals.โ€ I embellished. โ€œSo youโ€™re a thiefโ€ Caleb stated.

โ€œOf a fashion.โ€ I donโ€™t know why I felt like I had to explain myself but for some reason I didnโ€™t want this teacher to think badly of me, let alone my guys. Not to mention the entire class that was listening in as well. โ€œI take certain things that terrible men use, to hold over women, to force them to remain in abusive relationships. Once they no longer have whatever it is the organisation that I work for arranges for them to disappear and start a new life under a new identity.โ€ I explained.

Caleb actually looked taken aback by this. A feeling of smugness slipped over me. I loved proving people wrong. Thatโ€™s right I kick ass and I save people โ€ฆ basically I should be a superhero.

โ€œHow much money are we talking aboutโ€ someone at the back of the class asked.

โ€œThatโ€™s none of โ€ฆโ€ I started before Caleb answered โ€œOver two hundred thousand in human money.โ€

โ€œRude!โ€ I scoffed. โ€œHavenโ€™t you heard of privacyโ€ I turned to my guys about to rant about the lack of teacher student privilege and if that was a thing but the look on their faces stopped me. โ€œWhat? I know itโ€™s quite a bit for my age but itโ€™s not a huge amount.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s human money compared to Drakons?โ€ someone else asked.

Caleb looked thoughtful for a minute and I was honestly shocked that we were even having this conversation but part of me was curious as well.

โ€œWell humans calculate their currency based on gold equivalency and there are about twenty Drakons to your dollar, give or take a few.โ€ Caleb said drifting off.

โ€œFour million!โ€ someone gasped. I was pretty shocked too. Huh, so I was kinda rich on this side! That was nice.

โ€œAnyway,โ€ Caleb said looking around him clearly realising that he had maybe overstepped the mark, โ€œI want the rest of you to start warm up while we talk about where to place you Aria.โ€ The rest of the class started to grumble before setting off at a slow jog around the gym. My guys seemed to be the only ones taking it seriously whereas everyone else was just dragging themselves around clearly hating it. โ€œWell clearly youโ€™re top of the classโ€ He laughed. โ€œI think you would even be top of the second-year class at this stage. Youโ€™ve got two options, you can either stay in this class and we can do some one on one training while you help out with the others, or I can move you into the second-year class It shouldnโ€™t affect your other

classes too much. I think the headmaster said that your schedule was pretty light at the minute.โ€

โ€œI think Iโ€™ll go with option one if that is okay with you. And can I ask you a favour?โ€ I said watching the class run their laps.

โ€œGo for itโ€ Caleb said.

โ€œMaybe keep the personal questions for when everyone isnโ€™t watching the Aria show.โ€ I quirked.

โ€œYeah sorry about that. It was inappropriate and I shouldnโ€™t have said anything. The whole assassin thing had riled me up and I didnโ€™t expect you to, you know, have some life saving superhero type job.โ€ He said rubbing the back of his neck with one hand and blushing.

โ€œI canโ€™t believe you thought I was some badass assassin for hireโ€ I laughed. โ€œThe scars โ€ฆโ€ he started

โ€œLetโ€™s leave that for another day.โ€ I cut in, watching the class and refusing to look his way. I saw him out of the corner of my eye nodding slowly.

โ€œWhy donโ€™t you move over to the weights and punching bags. I assume you have some form of training routine you can work through while I take the others through some of what weโ€™ve been working on.โ€ He stood up and strode away without saying another word.

I wandered over to the punching bags and found some tape lying on a bench to tape up my knuckles. This is the weirdest place I have ever been. Itโ€™s kind of like being on a soap opera. These people need to learn boundaries. Yet, I feel like I might belong here. Itโ€™s strange. Alfieโ€™s is the only place I

ever felt like this before but I feel a bit like maybe Iโ€™m meant to be here. I settled back into my old training routine and was absorbed in the moves that were like second nature to me. Next time I would have to bring my ear buds and music with me. Whilst the steady thud of the bag helped settle me into the routine I much preferred having something with a heavy beat to lay into the bags with. Time drifted away from me with the steady thud thud thud. It wasnโ€™t until I saw a grinning Sykes on the other side of the bag in my eyeline that I realised everyone else had taken a break. I stopped my routine and glanced around me as everyone else was sitting or lying on the ground taking a break. These guys were seriously out of shape. My three at least looked like they still had some life left in them. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and Sykes handed me a cold bottle of water which I placed on the bag of my neck to cool down a bit. I plopped down on the ground next to Kyle and Sykes collapsed next to me.

โ€œHow are you not half dead by now?โ€ Liam huffed out. โ€œYouโ€™ve been wailing on that bag for nearly an hour and youโ€™re not even out of breath.โ€ He complained.

โ€œAlfieโ€ I said taking a swig out the bottle.

โ€œThe guy that calls you kitten?โ€ Kyle said frowning.

โ€œYep,โ€ I sighed. God is everything we talk about going to have to include my life story. I am not a person that shares and today is getting pretty taxing. โ€œHeโ€™s basically trained me since I was twelve years old.โ€ I could see Kyle frowning and a look passed between all three of them as they shifted uncomfortably. โ€œUrgh, just ask! I can tell you want to know something.โ€ I sighed.

Kyle at least had the sense to at least look a bit embarrassed but the other two just grinned at me. โ€œIs he, like, I donโ€™t know, someone you care about?โ€ Kyle stuttered.

โ€œOf course I care about him. Heโ€™s trained me for over eight years and I live at his gym.โ€ I said. I knew where this was going but no point giving in right away.

โ€œRightโ€ Kyle said. There was a range of looks passing between the three of them. Sykes seemed to just be really intensely staring at the floor, Liam looked like he was chewing on a wasp but Kyle was the worst, he just looked sad.

โ€œOh, stop it! Youโ€™re breaking my heart over here,โ€ I huffed, โ€œAlfie is like eighty and is like a grandfather to me. Donโ€™t think you can pull that sad puppy look and get everything you want all the time.โ€ I joked playfully shoving Kyleโ€™s shoulder.

The grin he gave me seriously made my mouth water. God this man was beautiful. It was also contagious and I couldnโ€™t help but grin back at him. I am in so much trouble with these three.

โ€œRight you lot stop laying about,โ€ Caleb shouted from the other side of the room โ€œoff your arses and run, twenty laps for your warm down.โ€

A collective groan rose across the room โ€œWhy running? Canโ€™t we learn some cool flippy things like Aria does?โ€ someone moaned from somewhere on the floor.

Caleb actually stood there and just laughed at him. I didnโ€™t see that it was quite as funny as he did but it was nice to know that my skills had made an impression and I grinned to myself. Why yes, I do feel pretty smug right now.

โ€œYou think you are in good enough shape to even think about doing any of the moves you saw her doingโ€ he laughed actually wiping tears from his

eyes. โ€œAria?โ€ he shouted across the room at me while he strode across to whoever had moaned in the first place.

โ€œYepโ€ I shouted back. Time for another lesson in how bad ass I was apparently.

โ€œHow many times a week do you go running?โ€ โ€œEveryday.โ€

โ€œHow far do you run?โ€

โ€œAround fifteen miles.โ€ I saw Sykes flop back in exhaustion. โ€œAnd how much fight training have you had?โ€

โ€œAbout every day for over eight years.โ€ I shouted grinning across the room at him.

By this time Caleb had reached his victim and squatted down in front of him. โ€œSo, you just have about 3000 more sessions with me Callum before you can consider yourself anywhere near the same level as doing the moves that she can.โ€ Then he just patted him on the shoulder, got up and walked away. โ€œNow run!โ€ he shouted.

Everyone silently got to their feet and started the slow shuffle of trying to get the energy to run again. My three guys just looked at me before Sykes whispered โ€œYou are such a badassโ€ then pulled himself to his feet and started off around the gym. The others gave me soft smiles and got up to follow him.

Caleb was watching everyone start to run again and Iโ€™m a little uncertain where I need to be. I got to my feet intending to join the others, a quick jog around the gym should help my muscles cool down and I havenโ€™t had time to go for a run today anyway. Itโ€™s not my usual run but one day off wonโ€™t kill me. I start to run the track and gage my classmates skills who are ahead of me. They are really out of shape. Some of the guys look to be fairing better but no one is really giving it any real commitment. The girls are lagging behind and itโ€™s clear that none of them have ever had any training before. As I draw level with Caleb he calls me to a stop to come over to talk to him.

โ€œYouโ€™ve definitely got your work cut out for youโ€ I laugh. Most of the class have slowed down to more of a fast walk. Thereโ€™s only about six of the guys still running laps.

โ€œYeah, they always find it hard to start with. The pack doesnโ€™t train like it used to. Donโ€™t get me wrong theyโ€™ve got more fitness than the average human and they can hold their own in a fight if they channel their animals but other than that this is the sorry excuses Iโ€˜ve got to work with. The witches rely on their magic, the vamps and demons have a head start because they have natural muscle and speed but we donโ€™t have any in this group.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s the purpose of this class?โ€ I ask watching him from the side of my eye while pretending Iโ€™m still watching the others basically give up because they are most definitely not working out.

Caleb grins and gives me his full attention. โ€œWhat do you think it is?โ€

โ€œDepends, how long has the academy been open?โ€ I asked looking around the gym at all the shiny new equipment and the barely scuffed lacquered floor. The gym is definitely only a year old at most. Either that or it has seen a major remodel recently. There are no scuff marks on the floor that you would expect from a room where fighting takes place on a daily basis. No

marks on the walls from missed throws or anything else. The punching bags I were using were definitely new because they lack the give in the leather that a well used bag gives you. But that could just mean that it was recently replaced.

โ€œThe academy has been running for around one hundred and twenty years in one form or another.โ€ Caleb informed me taking a pull from his water bottle.

โ€œAlways mixed races?โ€ I ask.

โ€œNo, it used to just be for the pack. The other races werenโ€™t invited to attend until last year. They have their own academies.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re building a unified fighting force.โ€ I state, thereโ€™s no question in my mind. โ€œSomething is going on and you are banding the races together by bringing the younger generation together, in an environment to form bonds, and training them to be able to fight together.โ€ Itโ€™s a good idea if you think about it. Trouble on the horizon. Make sure that your younger generations will fight together because theyโ€™ve already formed a unit. Better that than everyone dying trying to stand on their own.

โ€œCome on, we need to go and talk with the headmaster.โ€ Caleb started off towards the door of the gym before shouting over his shoulder โ€œStop pretending you lot are even trying and go get showered.โ€

I waved goodbye to my three as they watch me exit with Caleb and followed him through the corridors back to the office that I got thrown into yesterday. When we walked in the headmaster was sat behind his desk apparently waiting for us. โ€œIs there a problem here?โ€ He asked arching an eyebrow. I just smiled and slinked into the same chair I sat in yesterday.

โ€œSomeone was holding out on usโ€ Caleb smiled over at me with a laugh.

โ€œI wasnโ€™t holding out as such, merely testing the water before deciding if I was going to commit.โ€ I relaxed back into the chair.

โ€œHmmm testing the waterโ€ Caleb turned to the headmaster, โ€œShe has the most developed attack magic I have ever seen. She may even be able to beat me.โ€

The headmaster looked at me with clear interest on his face. โ€œIt takes years to develop magic to that level.โ€ He was clearly unconvinced.

โ€œYepโ€ I said popping the p.

โ€œSo, you developed your magic with an inherent ability to use it?โ€ he queried clearly looking confused.

โ€œNopeโ€ I said popping the p again.

The headmaster started to look more pissed than confused now and I decided being unco-operative was clearly not a good move here. โ€œIโ€™ve always had it in one form or another, I suppose I was probably about thirteen when it started truly developing into what it is now. Itโ€™s been there since I was about nine, I think. Iโ€™ve trained since I was twelve so Iโ€™ve pretty much got as much of a handle on it as I could on my own.โ€

Now he just looked like his eyes were going to pop out of his head. He opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out my gold test tube. โ€œBit creepy that youโ€™re just hanging onto that you knowโ€ I said. He smiled over at me then glanced back down at the tube with his forehead crinkled in thought. โ€œSurely thatโ€™s not possibleโ€ he whispered.

โ€œShe can make swords!โ€ Caleb cut in clearly excited about something. โ€œShe doesnโ€™t even need a spell or anything they just pop into her hand.โ€ I laughed, was Caleb about to turn into my fan-girl.

โ€œI need to look into this a bit more. Obviously, seems as this has come out in class there is no chance of keeping what you can do quiet, but letโ€™s not advertise that you have had this ability all your life until I can find out a bit more.โ€ The headmaster said looking concerned. He turned to Caleb. โ€œAre you planned on moving her into a more advanced class?โ€

โ€œActually, I was going to keep her where she is. I could do with some help with the group that I have and it will give me a better chance to work with her one on one while the others run through some drills.โ€

โ€œThat would be acceptable as long as Aria is happy with that,โ€ the headmaster said looking at me for confirmation.

โ€œYeah sounds good. I was meaning to ask, if it would be okay for me to use the gym outside of class hours. I canโ€™t train just two days a week. I need to have more of an outlet than that.โ€

โ€œOf course, the gym is free every morning and evening, you can use it as much as you like. If youโ€™re wanting to run outside, once around the building is a five mile lap, thereโ€™s a path that runs the full circumference you can use like a track. If you want to use the simulator let me know and we can set up some times. You need a second to work the pad.โ€ Caleb offered.

โ€œThanks, I appreciate itโ€ I said a bit taken aback by how helpful he was being.

โ€œWe are here to help you Aria, no matter how bad your admission here felt, you are always going to be welcome here.โ€ The headmaster smiled. โ€œI will start looking into your magic and see if I can help find out something about

your background for you. I have a feeling that I know where to start. Tell me, how does your magic feel?โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ I asked confused.

โ€œI am a mage, a male witch. When I can feel my magic inside myself or when I use it, it feels like a rush of tingles that runs down my arms.โ€ The headmaster filled.

โ€œIโ€™m a shifter,โ€ Caleb filled in โ€œwhen I use my magic it feels like a warm breeze running over my skin.โ€

I could see where this was going. โ€œIt feels hot,โ€ I said, frowning as I tried to put the feeling into words, โ€œsometimes it feels like there is too much inside and I need to get it out of me. Itโ€™s like red hot rage, burning lava that runs through my veins. Training and fighting is the only way that I feel like I can keep it under controlโ€ I explained. I could see from the looks on their faces that this was not normal. I never felt like as much of a monster as I did right now.

โ€œIs she a type of demon?โ€ Caleb said looking at the headmaster.

โ€œNo demon magic is more subtle, itโ€™s said to be similar to my own, cold and icy. I think I know what this might be but I need to make some more investigations. If Iโ€™m right, you are going to be a very important person in the coming fight Aria.โ€

โ€œYeah, about that, why are you building yourself your own little army anyway.โ€ I said crossing my arms and leaning back in my chair. I could wait on the information they were gathering but I wasnโ€™t going to drink the Kool-Aid without knowing what was going on here.

โ€œWhat do you know of the problems in the human realm?โ€ the headmaster asked.

โ€œThe media says that halfblood kids are losing control of their magic and destroying everything and everyone around them. But Iโ€™m guessing that isnโ€™t true.โ€ I eyed him wearily.

โ€œItโ€™s not. When the reveal took place and the gates were opened we didnโ€™t realise the impact that it would have upon the veil that holds the realms apart. Not all of the gates were opened. Only the gates between this realm and the human realm. In truth, we donโ€™t know where all the realm gates are hidden but it was felt that the demon gate specifically should not be opened. It was felt that they should not have access to the human realm for fear of the harm that they could bring. They werenโ€™t always segregated in their own realm. When they were allowed to roam free there was nothing but chaos and destruction. The demons did not agree with our decision to keep them locked where they are. They have been trying to break through. The veil was weakened unintentionally when we opened our gate and some have slipped past us. We believe that what is being blamed as halfbloodโ€™s losing control is actually a form of possession by the demons who have escaped. Because they have never been trained in their magic, they are susceptible to possession and the potential that their magic has makes them formidable weapons for the demons to wield. At this stage we donโ€™t know if what is happening is a few demons celebrating their freedom with what they do best or if it is part of some greater plan.โ€

โ€œShit.โ€ I mumbled. There was really no other way to sum it up.

The headmaster cocked a half smile at my eloquent response. โ€œIndeed. Some believe that the gates should be shut and the realms should be separated. Others, including myself, believe that the damage has already been done and shutting the gates isnโ€™t going to repair the breaches which have been made. This is a problem of our own creation and we cannot abandon the humans to the consequences of our actions. There is a fight coming and we need to be prepared for it.โ€ He said ominously.

โ€œShit.โ€ I mumbled again. I may not be eloquent but it really did sum up the situation.

The headmaster and Caleb had other business to discuss and I was excused so that I could go shower and get to my afternoon lesson. As I left the office the corridors were busy with students getting ready for their next lesson. Or at least that was what I thought they were doing until I closed the door behind me and all of them turned to look at me. What I had thought was just students going about their business was actually five guys lounging around apparently waiting on me. Well wasnโ€™t I Miss Popular right now.

A dirty blonde stepped forward first, from the build of him, and from what I now knew of the school, I guessed that he was a shifter. โ€œWell, hey there Aria, Iโ€™m Ryker and this is my pack.โ€ He said waving a hand over one shoulder.

Nausea was the strongest feeling I felt right now. He was attractive in a sort of way. But he had nothing on my three. There was something about him that just gave you the urge to either throw up or throw something at him. Especially now that he seemed to think that my silence gave him permission to check me out like some piece of meat. Now I was definitely going to throw up. Words completely failed me so I turned towards my room and went to walk away. That was until a meaty hand dropped down on my shoulder to turn me back. Had to give him his dues, Ryker had balls, or was it stupid, yeah thatโ€™s right he was definitely stupid.

โ€œHey hey donโ€™t go running away now darling, we just want to introduce ourselvesโ€ he said turning me back towards him. I went with a sickly sweet smile on my face. This was definitely my favourite part of the game.

โ€œOh Iโ€™m sorry I didnโ€™t realise that you just wanted to introduce yourselves to me.โ€ I slowly ran one hand down his chest and a satisfied smile slide across his face as his free hand came up to hold onto my waist. Urgh he was

such a dick. I caught the eye of one of the other guys over his shoulder and I could see him silently laughing. He knew what was about to go down and he wasnโ€™t warning the giant douche in front of me. As my hand trailed over his stomach I took a step closer and brushed against the front of him.

โ€œThatโ€™s right baby. We heard about what you did today. A female like you needs a proper mate, a proper pack. I can look past these scars and treat you like you need.โ€ He said running a finger along my shoulder. โ€œWe havenโ€™t taken a mate yet, but you baby, you could be good enough to try out for our pack.โ€

Thankfully by this point my hand had reached itโ€™s intended target and I grabbed and twisted like I was opening my favourite beer. And the squeal he made would have made any Belieber proud. I think I even heard his friend bark out a laugh behind him.

โ€œYou see the thing is โ€ฆ baby โ€ฆ I just canโ€™t look past this little pickle Iโ€™m holding in my hand. I mean at this size is it really any use to you?โ€ I shoved him away from me and wiped my hand on my trouser leg. He collapsed down to his knees once Iโ€™d let him go. Perhaps Iโ€™d twisted a little too much. I ran one hand over his hair, he was so much like every man Iโ€™d worked against back in the human realm. Grabbing a fist full of hair in my hand I bent his head back so that he was looking me in the face. โ€œI suggest that once you get the use of your legs back, that you get up and walk away. I donโ€™t need to see your face again, do you understand me Pickle.โ€ I released his hair and patted his face kindly. If there was any justice in the world Pickle wouldnโ€™t get the use of his pickle back.
